Kristopher J Van Stralen graduated from the University of Arizona, 1982 (B. S. in Finance). His professional qualifications have included the licenses: General Security Representative, Uniform Combined State Law, and General Securities Sales Supervision.
He currently holds The American College of Financial Services, Chartered Financial Consultant®, ChFC® designation. The ChFC® coursework covers all aspects of financial planning including investments, income taxation, insurance, estate and retirement planning with a focus on the practical application of those principles based on real-life case studies. Additionally, he has met the financial experience requirements and ethical standards required by The American College.
Prior to joining Creekside Partners in 2016, Mr. Van Stralen was a Managing Director at Janney Capital Markets in the Institutional Equity Division between 2008 – 2014. He served as the Senior Research Representative covering Institutional Equity Managers in the Western United States and as the Team leader establishing the West Coast Institutional office. He was recruited and joined The Royal Bank of Canada in 1999 as a principal and elected Managing Director in 2001. Prior to RBC, between 1999 to 1987, he worked at Volpe Brown, Whelan and Co., Bear Stearns Companies and Drexel Burnham Lambert.
Before entering the Financial Industry, he worked at Burroughs Corporation, between 1983 – 1987, Marketing Computer Systems to Large Scale Manufacturing, Distribution and Retail Companies.
Mr. Van Stralen has volunteered and served at the Marin Mammal Center helping to rehabilitate sick and injured marine mammals. He currently participates in charitable events supporting St Perpetua Catholic school in Lafayette, CA.
